What’s happening?
Crush’s Coaster — the beloved attraction based on the Pixar film Finding Nemo — is nearly twenty years old. On 7 September 2026, the ride will close for what promises to be its most comprehensive refurbishment to date. The expected reopening is scheduled for summer 2027.
What exactly will be done?
The refurbishment will take place in two major phases. During the first phase, teams from Design & Delivery, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Maintenance, and the Disneyland Paris Central Workshops will work on a wide range of systems that are essential to the attraction’s operation — including the full replacement of certain control systems, sensors, communications equipment, and selected sections of track.
The second phase focuses on an extensive testing and validation programme — absolutely essential to ensure that all systems are working correctly before the attraction reopens. Alongside the technical improvements, the show scenery will also receive a thorough refresh: cleaned, repainted, and repaired, so that the full magic of the Finding Nemo experience is completely preserved.
The biggest refurbishment ever
Crush’s Coaster did undergo a lengthy closure back in 2015, but the project launching in September 2026 is on an entirely different scale. Disneyland Paris itself describes this as the most extensive refurbishment the attraction has ever undergone — with the goal of keeping Crush’s Coaster running reliably and at the highest standard for many years to come.
