It’s a Lion King week at Disneyland Paris: the iconic live show is making its return, and Disney has shared brand-new details about the upcoming log flume attraction coming to Disney Adventure World.

The show is back: Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands reopens

After a closure of just over six weeks, the wait is finally over. Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands — the spectacular live show at the Frontierland Theater in Disneyland Park — reopens on 13 June 2026. The show has been closed since 4 May for scheduled maintenance.

If you haven’t seen it before: this is a breathtaking 30-minute performance featuring dancers, acrobats and singers, all portraying beloved characters from the 1994 classic. The theatre is fitted with a 360° sound system that transports you completely into the African savannah. If you’re visiting the park this weekend, don’t leave it to chance — seats fill up quickly after a lengthy closure.

Imagineers reveal new details: here’s what the Lion King attraction will look like

Even more exciting for devoted fans: Walt Disney Imagineering shared new images earlier this week of the detailed scale model for the upcoming Lion King log flume attraction at Disney Adventure World. For the first time, we can see how the scene featuring Timon, Pumbaa and young Simba will look — complete with beautiful details drawn directly from the animated film.

“With the latest technology, projection effects and advanced Audio-Animatronics all coming together, this attraction is going to be something truly special.”
Michel den Dulk, VP Portfolio Executive Creative Director Disneyland Paris — Walt Disney Imagineering

The attraction will be an indoor/outdoor log flume, similar in style to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and will feature three drops — including an impressive plunge of no less than 16 metres. Guests will experience Simba’s full journey: from his carefree days with Timon and Pumbaa to his return as the rightful king of the Pride Lands. Each log will seat up to 12 guests.

Building an African savannah in Paris: how does Disney do it?

One of the greatest challenges for the Imagineers is recreating the African landscape in the French climate. “We’re selecting native trees that can thrive in Paris,” explained Executive Creative Producer John Mauro. “Over the coming months and years, we’ll be training, pruning and shaping them to achieve those iconic savannah silhouettes.”

At the construction site in Disney Adventure World, concrete walls and foundations are already clearly visible above the decorative hoardings, and the cranes are hard at work. An official opening date has yet to be announced, but progress is looking very promising.

What does this mean for your visit?

Planning a trip to Disneyland Paris soon? Make sure you add Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands to your itinerary straight away — reopenings always draw extra crowds. And for those who love following the construction: a stroll past the building site in Disney Adventure World will give you some wonderful glimpses of the future Pride Lands area.
