Download and Set Up Before You Arrive
Download the app well before your visit — not when you’re already standing at the park gates. Create an account and log in. Link your tickets to your account using the QR code on your ticket or booking confirmation. If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, also link your hotel package to your account for access to benefits such as restaurant reservations up to 12 months in advance. That way, you’ll start the day with everything ready to go.
Live Wait Times: Your Secret Weapon
The most-used feature of the app is the live wait times map. Here you can see the current wait time for each attraction, updated every few minutes. This is your primary navigation tool in the park: always head to the attractions with the shortest wait times at that moment, unless you’ve already booked Premier Access for something specific.
A clever tip: check the wait times for the top five most popular attractions every hour. You’ll soon notice patterns emerging — Big Thunder Mountain tends to have shorter queues early in the morning and after the parade, while Space Mountain is always busy but peaks around lunchtime. Once you recognise these patterns, you’ll know exactly when to go where.
Booking Premier Access Through the App
Premier Access is the paid system that allows you to skip the regular queue. Through the app, you purchase a time slot for a specific attraction and walk straight to the front at that time. Prices vary by attraction and date, but expect to pay between €8 and €25 per person per attraction.
The Premier Access strategy: book the attractions with the longest wait times as early in the morning as possible. Crush’s Coaster, Space Mountain and Frozen Ever After are the busiest attractions. Open the app before you even enter the park and book as soon as you have access. Popular time slots fill up quickly in the morning.
There are two types of Premier Access: Premier Access One (per individual attraction) and Premier Access Ultimate (unlimited access to all participating attractions for one day). For guests who want to experience several popular attractions in a single day, Premier Access Ultimate is often the smartest choice in terms of cost versus time saved.
Planning Shows and Entertainment
The app also features a full entertainment schedule with times and locations for all shows, parades and special events on the day. This is your at-a-glance daily planner. Set reminders for Disney Stars on Parade and Disney Illuminations so you never miss a moment of the magic.
For certain shows (such as A Celebration in Arendelle in World of Frozen), you can reserve a spot through the app. This is free but availability is limited. Book as early as possible on the day of your visit to secure the best seats.
Restaurant Reservations Through the App
The app also allows you to make dining reservations at all sit-down restaurants in the park. This includes character dining restaurants such as Auberge de Cendrillon and The Regal View. Hotel guests can book up to 12 months in advance, while day visitors can reserve from 2 months before their visit. Open the app at exactly midnight on the day your booking window opens for the most popular restaurants.
Disney PhotoPass and Photos
Through the app, you can also view and download your Disney PhotoPass photos. Whenever a Disney photographer takes a picture of you, it is automatically linked to your account. In the app, you can browse all your photos and purchase them individually or download them as a package through Memory Maker. Always download your favourites within 45 days of your visit, as they will be deleted after that.
Meet and Greet Locations and Times
The app also shows the current locations and times for character meet and greets. Disney characters rotate around the park and aren’t always in the same spot. Through the app, you can see exactly where Mickey, Minnie, the princesses or specific characters (such as Anna and Elsa) are at any given moment. This is far more efficient than wandering through the park hoping to stumble across your favourite character.
Map and Navigation
The interactive park map in the app shows you in real time where attractions, restaurants, toilets, Baby Care Centres and other facilities are located. You can filter by category (attractions, dining, shops) and wait times are displayed directly on the map next to each attraction icon. Think of it as the digital version of the paper park map — but far smarter.
Setting Up Notifications and Alerts
Enable push notifications in the app to be alerted when an attraction suddenly has shorter wait times (particularly handy after a technical issue has just been resolved), when a show is about to start, or when your Premier Access time slot is approaching. This keeps you one step ahead without needing to check the app constantly.
