Since 29 March 2026, Disney Adventure World has been the new name of the former Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris. Following a two-billion-euro investment, Disney Adventure World has grown into a fully-fledged second park with five worlds built around the new Adventure Bay lake. What exactly is Disney Adventure World?
The park first opened in 2002 as Walt Disney Studios Park, focused mainly on movie themes and behind-the-scenes experiences. Since a major expansion was announced in 2018, that picture has changed completely. Disney Adventure World is now the resort’s second gate, alongside Disneyland Park, built around immersive, story-driven worlds full of adventure rather than film studios.
The five worlds of Disney Adventure World
World Premiere Plaza forms the entrance of the park, with Hollywood Boulevard and the iconic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – A New Dimension of Chills as its centrepiece.
Worlds of Pixar is all about Disney and Pixar films: here you’ll find Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, and Toy Story Playland, home to the half-pipe coaster RC Racer and the spinning ride Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin.
Marvel Avengers Campus is home to Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, with superhero meet-and-greets and Marvel-themed dining.
Adventure Way is the new, atmospheric avenue leading to the lake, featuring the spinning boat ride Raiponce Tangled Spin and The Regal View restaurant.
World of Frozen transports you to the snowy kingdom of Arendelle, with the dark ride Frozen Ever After as its absolute highlight.
Adventure Bay: the heart of the park
All the new worlds sit around Adventure Bay, the man-made lake that forms the centrepiece of Disney Adventure World. Every evening, Disney Cascade of Lights takes place here, a nighttime show with water, fireworks and drones that lights up the facades of Arendelle Castle and Avengers Campus. Want a good view of the show? Arrive early, as the lakeside fills up fast.
Practical tips for your visit
With an Annual Pass or a two-park ticket, you can move freely between Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World, so you don’t have to spend the whole day in one park. Plan the most popular attractions, such as Frozen Ever After and Crush’s Coaster, early in the day or via Disney Premier Access. Travelling with young children? Combine a quiet morning at Toy Story Playland with an afternoon in World of Frozen to spread out the crowds.
What’s still to come?
Disney Adventure World isn’t done growing. A new land inspired by The Lion King has been announced, and in 2027 the swing ride Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, based on Pixar’s Up, will open. Plenty of reason to keep coming back to this park in the years ahead.
