Disneyland Paris

Only one day at Disneyland Paris? Then you’ll want to make every moment count. With the right route planner and a smart strategy, you can see and do a remarkable amount — even in a single day. In this KTW guide, we give you a ready-to-use route planner for both Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World, complete with timing suggestions and priority tips.

Preparation: What to Do Before You Arrive

A successful one-day trip begins before you even set foot in the park. Download the official Disneyland Paris app and create an account. Buy your tickets online in advance — this saves valuable time at the entrance. Check the opening times for your visit day and see whether any attractions are closed for maintenance. Set up notifications for queue times at your favourite attractions.

It’s also worth thinking about food ahead of time. Would you like to make a restaurant reservation? Popular restaurants such as Auberge de Cendrillon fill up quickly. You can book via the app or website up to two months before your visit. If you don’t have a reservation, opt for the quick-service food carts or less busy dining spots to keep things moving.

Which Park Should You Choose with One Day?

If you only have one day, you’ll need to make a choice: Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World? Our recommendation for first-time visitors is always Disneyland Park. This is the classic park — home to the iconic castle, the widest range of attractions for all ages, and the longest history. Disney Adventure World is spectacular, with World of Frozen and its brand-new areas, but Disneyland Park is truly the heart of the Disney experience.

Do you have a Park Hopper ticket (access to both parks)? Then we’d suggest spending the morning in Disneyland Park and crossing over to Disney Adventure World in the afternoon or evening for World of Frozen and the evening spectacular. This is the perfect combination for a full day.

Disneyland Park Route Planner: The Ideal Order

Below you’ll find the recommended order for a day in Disneyland Park, based on queue times, park layout, and logistics.

08:30 – Arrival and Entry

Arrive early — aim to be there at least 30 minutes before the official opening time. The queues at the entrance build up quickly. You can already explore the park entrance area (Main Street U.S.A.) before the rest of the park opens. Use that time to take some atmospheric photos of an empty Main Street with the castle in the background.

09:00 – Head Straight to the Busiest Attractions

At opening time, everyone rushes to the most popular attractions. Be strategic: head directly to Big Thunder Mountain or Space Mountain. Queue times at opening are minimal — sometimes just 5 to 10 minutes. At the same time, book a Premier Access ticket via the app for the other busy attraction you’d like to visit later in the day.

10:00 – Fantasyland and Family Favourites

After the thrill rides, make your way to Fantasyland for the gentler attractions: It’s a Small World, Dumbo, Peter Pan’s Flight, and the carousel. Peter Pan’s Flight always draws a long queue, so it’s best to visit early. It’s a Small World has a high throughput and tends to move quickly even later in the day.

12:00 – Lunch

Eat early or late — avoid the lunch rush between 12:00 and 14:00. We’d suggest eating around 11:30 or after 13:30. Choose a quick-service restaurant to save time, or bring a packed lunch if you’d like to keep costs down.

13:00 – Adventureland and Frontierland

After lunch: Pirates of the Caribbean (always worth it, with relatively shorter queues after lunch), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril if you enjoy thrill rides, and a stroll through Adventureland to soak up the atmosphere. In Frontierland: Phantom Manor for those who fancy it — the queue here tends to be more manageable during the afternoon.

16:30 – Find a Good Spot for the Parade

At least 45 minutes before Disney Stars on Parade (usually at 17:30), find yourself a spot along Main Street. Choose the shaded side of the street. Use the waiting time to grab a snack or an ice cream. The parade is absolutely not to be missed.

18:30 – Last Attractions and a Browse of the Shops

After the parade, many guests head home — which means this is your moment to revisit popular attractions with much shorter queues! It’s also ideal for a relaxed browse along the shops on Main Street. Save your souvenir shopping for the end of the day so you’re not carrying bags around all afternoon.

21:00 – Disney Illuminations

To close out the day in style: the spectacular Disney Illuminations evening show in front of the castle. Find a spot near the Plaza facing the castle 30 to 45 minutes beforehand. This is the magical ending to a truly wonderful day.

Disney Adventure World Route Planner (Half Day)

If you have a Park Hopper ticket and are spending the afternoon and evening in Disney Adventure World, this is the ideal order. Start straight away with Frozen Ever After in World of Frozen — this is the most popular attraction and has the longest queues. At the same time, book Premier Access for Crush’s Coaster via the app, as this is the other must-do ride that always draws a crowd.

Then take your time to explore the World of Frozen area — enjoy the atmosphere, take photos by the Arendelle castle, and wander along the illuminated avenue. Try to catch A Celebration in Arendelle if the timing works out. After that: Crush’s Coaster (with Premier Access), RC Racer, and if there’s still daylight left, a lap around the park. Round off your evening with the spectacular show at Adventure Bay.

Handy Tips for a One-Day Visit

Wear comfortable shoes — on a busy day you can easily walk 15 to 20 kilometres. Bring a small rucksack with water, snacks, sun cream, and a light waterproof jacket. Make sure your phone is fully charged in the morning and bring a power bank: the app and GPS will drain your battery surprisingly fast.

Use the queue time display in the app to keep an eye on live wait times and adjust your route accordingly. Head to attractions with shorter queues and plan the popular ones via Premier Access. Don’t stick rigidly to the route — adapt it based on what’s actually happening in the park at any given moment.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Route Planner

How many attractions can I do in one day? With a good strategy and Premier Access, 10 to 15 attractions is very achievable in a single day. Without Premier Access and on a busy day, 6 to 10 attractions is a more realistic expectation.

Do I need to stick to a fixed route? No — use the route as a guide, but always adapt it based on live queue times. Flexibility is the key to an efficient day.

What should I do if an attraction is closed? Always check the app in advance to see which attractions are open. If a must-do attraction is unexpectedly closed, simply shift the rest of your schedule along and fill the freed-up time with an attraction that’s usually too busy to squeeze in.
