What is Disney Tales of Magic?

Disney Tales of Magic is the successor to the legendary Disney Dreams!® and combines projections on the castle, fountains, lasers, pyrotechnics, and music into a captivating story lasting approximately twenty minutes. Recently, the projections have also extended onto the facades of Main Street, U.S.A., making the show feel even more immersive. Cast Members (the dedicated team at Disneyland Paris) intentionally refer to it not as a “firework show” but as a story, and you truly feel it: music and visuals gently intertwine until the grand finale.

What time does the evening show begin?

The start time for Disney Tales of Magic depends on the park’s closing time and therefore varies by season, usually falling somewhere between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM. We always recommend checking the Disneyland Paris app on the day of your visit for the exact schedule. During peak periods, such as the summer holidays, the park sometimes even schedules the show twice an evening.

The best viewing spots

Central Plaza, directly in front of the castle

For those who wish to experience the show in its most magnificent form, Central Plaza, directly in front of the castle, is the prime location. Here, you’ll see the castle projections at their sharpest and enjoy the best views of the fountains. Visiting with little ones? We recommend finding a spot at least forty-five minutes before the show begins, as this location is by far the most popular.

Rivers of the Far West, opposite Adventureland

If you prefer a slightly more relaxed viewing experience, the quayside along the Rivers of the Far West, opposite Adventureland, offers an excellent alternative. While the castle is further away from here, you’ll be treated to a beautiful reflection of the fireworks in the water.

Near It’s a Small World

The area around It’s a Small World also provides good views of the projections and is generally less crowded than Central Plaza — a lovely option if you’d rather not wait an hour beforehand.

Reserved Zone: Is it worth it?

Disneyland Paris offers a paid reserved viewing zone for the evening show, with prices typically ranging from €19 to €24 per person. This option provides a designated spot with excellent views, without the need to wait for hours beforehand. For families with young children who might find it challenging to stand still for extended periods, this is often well worth considering; you can book your spots via the Disneyland Paris app or at the park’s ticket counters.

What changes are coming in 2026?

From 1st April 2026, the drones will permanently be removed from Disney Tales of Magic; in their place, extra projections and pyrotechnics will be added. Furthermore, from 4th May until the end of September 2026, the fountain effects will temporarily be suspended due to maintenance on the castle bridge, compensated with additional fireworks. Still keen to see drones? Since late March 2026, Disneyland Paris has introduced a second evening show, Disney Cascade of Lights, which features a drone show.

Is the show suitable for young children?

The fireworks and loud bangs can be quite intense for the very youngest guests. If you prefer to be at a safer distance from the sound, choose a spot further away from the castle, such as near It’s a Small World, or consider the reserved zone where you can more easily step away if it becomes too much. Most children, however, absolutely adore the colours and the story, so experiencing it is definitely worthwhile.
